  • Trial Week – Sept 19th and Sept 21th, 2011

    Hi all prospective members,

    We will be having our trial week for the Fall Semester 2011 this week!

    Full details:
    Mon (Sept 19) @ Central Gym: Iaido 6:00pm~7:30pm, Kendo 7:30pm~9:30pm
    Wed (Sept 21) @ Central Gym: Iaido 6:00pm~7:30pm, Kendo 7:30pm~9:30pm

    You may choose to attend only Iaido or only Kendo, or to attend both! Our trial is free and open to the general public. This is your chance to find out what is Iaido and Kendo, and try it out for yourself! Please come with proper gym attire (shorts and t-shirt).

  • 17th Canadian National Kendo Championship – July 2, 2011 @ BCIT, Burnaby BC

    Celebrating 100 years of Kendo in Canada.

    On July 2nd 2011, the 17th Canadian National Kendo Championships will be held in Vancouver. An estimated 150 participants from across Canada will visit Vancouver to join in a celebration of culture, tradition and competition at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, in Burnaby, BC.

    With its large and active Japanese Canadian community, Canada has been at the forefront of international Kendo for over the past 35 years, with our teams placing among the top three in seven out of thirteen World Championships. Since the inception of the women’s division, Canada has placed third in the 3 Championships to date.

    At this year’s tournament we are celebrating one hundred years of kendo in Canada. Steveston and the Canadian West Coast was the starting point of kendo in Canada, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, and we cannot think of a better place and occasion to commemorate this historical milestone.

  • Spring Icebreaker – Feb 23rd, 2011 @ SFU

    **(PLEASE RSVP ASAP, so we can order enough food).**
    An icebreaker event for Iaido and Kendo Club members! Join us for some pizza, mingling and prizes :D Maybe even a shinai maintenance tutorial if you’re interested!

  • Clubs Day – Spring 2011

    Spring 2011 Clubs Days will be taking place Jan 18, 19, & 20 in the South, East & North Concourse of the AQ.

    We’ll be in the recreation area with the other sports clubs.

  • Trial Week – Jan 17th and Jan 19th, 2011

    Trial week for the Spring Semester, 2011 commences January 17th and 19th at the Central Gym at SF starting at 7:30pm for both days.

    Our trial is open to the general public and no experience is required. We only ask that you bring proper gym attire (shorts and t-shirt will suffice)
